I am a mainly self-taught artist who recently moved to
Droitwich from Kenilworth. Since taking early retirement I have
enjoyed revisiting my interest in painting. I started painting again on a
holiday in Greece where I discovered I hadn’t quite left it
too late to relearn! A year at Warwickshire Art College, many and
various painting clubs and several years of art tuition later I find I am still learning.
I paint in all media except oil. My paintings have been
selected for several Consortium Exhibitions at the Herbert Art Gallery
in Coventry where in 2015 I was awarded a ‘Commended’. My artwork has been much in public demand at the Jane Powell Studio, the
Coventry and Warwickshire Society of Artists annual exhibitions at Rugby
and Leamington Spa and now several Droitwich local exhibitions.
I was proud to have won the Kenilworth Festival Arts Show prize.
and the Andrew Davies (screenwriter) award at the Coventry and
Warwickshire Society of Artists Christmas Exhibition. My recent portrait of comedian Sir Lenny Henry was 'highly commended' in the national King Lear Prizes competition which attracted more than 4000 entries from around the UK.
I am currently serving on the committee as Membership and Media Secretary
for the Coventry & Warwickshire Society of Artists and Newsletter
Editor for Droitwich Arts Network and am also a member of Droitwich Spa Art
Club.
